Is this enough to destroy an economy?

5 people died today

The patients counted in today's death toll were aged between 67 and 86 and all had known underlying health conditions.

The dates of the deaths were September 11 and September 12. No deaths were reported with no positive Covid-19 test result

I suppose it depends on how much you value a life, doesnt it?
The first question YOU need to ask yourself is how much testing is being done. The second is how the previous "draconian" measures have managed to control the infection rate to this point so that there were only five deaths. And the third is how much is it costing to hospitalize those who DIDNT die and how many more will the system take before its overloaded. You might throw in a supplimentary question of haow many health care workers are going to be among the victims, because this thing hits them hard.
Now factor THAT into the cost of doing it tough until a vaccine comes along. You really need to go to the football and the pub that much??馃樂

@whowasthatmaskedman Good points.

I will begin with the NHS staff. Surely, if staff are potected and they follow protocol they should not be harmed.Testing is going on and lots more pople are being tested. The point about testing is, is that there are cases comparable with April but a much lower death rate.
As to the pubs. People and businesses are being destroyed.

Is it really worth peoples lives being destroyed

@GaVmarts This is where the Govt needs to step in and provide financial support to mothball a business until it can reopen safely. If they can give someone a 50% discount on a meal or drinks, they can give the money straight to the business owner with some provision to support business and employees and NOT harm the health of the public.馃樂

@whowasthatmaskedman how long can they continue to support huge swathes of the population?

@GaVmarts Ask America... They have been printing money for over a decade now. But as a side note it is gratifying to see that you realise thats going to be a problem at some point.馃樂
