To people who don't know the difference between droplets infections and airborne ones, COVID19 is a droplet infection

It’s odd
I’ve heard some say COVID is airborne which explains its rapid spread

But I’ve never taken any airborne precautions (n95 mask/goggles) and I haven’t been infected
I work with COVID patients and my employer only provides equipment for droplets (surgical mask/ face sheild)

@Rickg If it was airborne it would spread a lot faster and a lot further, it stays in the air for a while after sneezing but it doesn't survive for long without a host.

@Rickg It's spread by droplet transmission. That's not airborne transmission, but many people confuse the two. The virus can still float along some wind currents and via droplets, but it needs to be encased in something like adroplet to survive long.

I know
And I think me ad my co-workers are proof that at least the virus doesn't commonly spread by airborne particles
But I am worried about the new highly contagious variants coming from Vietnam and India
I’m considering upgrading to wearing an n95 mask, why not have the added protection
Although I’ve had both my jabs so I’m a little more confident

@Rickg I'm fully vaccinated but still wear a mask in public for my safety, but also for others' safety. Even vaccinated I can still get covid and we know some asymptomatic carriers can pass it on.
