Why were ladies super skinny back in the late 90s and 2000s?

Wow Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera they were SKINNY!!!!!!!!
Now they’re plump and thick. I think they look better plump because guys like bigger girls nowadays. Even Justin Timberlake and the guys were thin!!!!! They wouldn’t be accepted on today’s world.

Effort--work---doing the hard thing like dieting USED to be done...because American girls USED to care how they looked. Now---girls (for the most part) don't care. Look around. In a mall for instance for every one girl with a bikini body----there are 85 others that need 2 airplane seats. America is fat land---compared to people other places in the world. Getting fat and lazy is easier than working out...and now its's now fashionable..acceptable....to diss people for making "fat comments". So now a girl can be as big as a tank and if a guy says anything about it--HE is the bad guy for saying outloud what he's thinking. Fat didn't used to be OK. Now it's the new norm...and if anyone don't like that--they are the one that is the problem. We've even created new words to make fat girls feel better. Instead of "you're really overweight"...it's now "curvy". Instead of OMG you're huge...it's now "Plus Sized".

This from a male, who's global uniform dress code appears to be cargo shorts, a brand name tee and baseball hat. And God forbid anyone introduce you to a hair brush.
@Graylight I'm sure this chart makes a point nicely........to someone..............but go to your local Walmart and look around.

@anythingoes477 I don't disagree, but we're far from the only nation suffering from the wealth of our efforts or paucity of our nutrition.

And the comment about male dress stands. 😉
@Graylight Isn't that like saying......"everyone in my family loves incest...but hey we're not the only ones who like it?"

Just because we are not the only country on earth who is now proportionately grossly overweight.....does not mean we are not grossly overweight. It's still a problem....no matter how many other countries are just like us. And the chart clearly shows being overweight is not a byproduct of wealth. Every country on the list above us is a 3rd world country with far less income per capita than the U.S. So it's not problem that's related to "wealth". It's a problem with an entire generation that can do anything they want....eat anything the want....look anyway they choose to look...be as lazy and overweight as they want.....and still be praised for it. Everyone gets a trophy. To mask that attitude...that health problem...we contrive new better sounding names for "fat"...and make anyone who says anything about that issue...a radial that should just shut up because it hurts junior's feelings.
