Is it true:

I hear that the US stock market has spiked (up), on the news that a US company is near to developing a vaccine against Covid-19. The UK BBC seem hesitant to cover this as yet. Have you heard anything on this? Or is it fake/premature news....

The US stock market rose the other day, yes, but not by much. It's said to have been bolstered by positive vaccine news. Thing is, while the news is positive, it's exceedingly early in the process. 8 people are bring tested with a promising vaccine and have been shown to develop antibodies against the virus. However, this is a non-vetted initial phase. To take it trough phase 3 will still take 12-18 months. And that's if it keeps offering positive results.
