Thank you!! People on my college campus are still out partying and they can’t understand why I’m mad because according to them they’re “young and healthy” so it’s no problem. I’m young and immunocompromised- I don’t want to die young just because they want to party!!

@Carissimi Campus isn’t open. I am in my own home quarantining like everyone else. But they’re the ones that make going to the grocery store hazardous because they’re perpetuating the outbreak in my community.

I’m glad you’re at home. They are young and foolish. @islandgirl55

The nature of rights and liberty implies a social agreement to protect the individual from the mob. That social agreement always contains boundaries and restrictions. The right of free speech is bound by slander laws. The right to gather is restricted to not impeding the movement of others.
No one has the right to endanger or harm another. That is why we have traffic laws. Yes they restrict our "rights" but in a socially beneficial way and with minimal impact. Thus it is the same with current temporary social interaction restrictions.
I do not understand those who proclaim to be healthy objecting vehemently to simple social distancing. If they are so healthy and immune then they should volunteer to work the food banks and give the at risk people the opportunity to stay home.
Stay safe my friend.

This situation calls for others to be caring and careful of people OTHER than themselves. It is very evident that many people just don't have that in them.

True. @MeowsoliniReturns

@Carissimi excerpt from the CDC website, this virus targeted the young, not the old like Covid 19.
—after the peak of illness during the second wave had come and gone in the United States. From April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010, CDC estimated there were 60.8 million cases (range: 43.3-89.3 million), 274,304 hospitalizations (range: 195,086-402,719), and 12,469 deaths (range: 8868-18,306) in the United States due to the (H1N1)pdm09 virus.

Okay, but I have no memory of world nations closing down, or flights being grounded, or borders closed. Many die of the flu every year, but we don’t close down countries. This is different. It is silent in that it can take 14-days to incubate, before symptoms, and now it seems that many don’t develop symptoms, but are still highly contagious. There is a big difference. However, this is not the point of the post. As I’ve pointed out, it’s about Rights. @Laughoften
