What Can You Do?

According to my health department, I shouldn’t be having any in person contact at all because I’m higher risk for serious complications. That’s all well and good, but how am I supposed to get groceries (and as I found out yesterday, it’s impossible to keep 6-feet apart when the store is full)?

You have to order deliveries a week in advance, and then they say most items are out of stock, even though they are not. I suppose they could be in a week. The pick up services are overwhelmed, and no longer have times available, so that means shopping for myself. I just hope my N95 mask keeps me safe. I saw lots of older people shopping, yesterday, and all wearing some kind of mask.

It’s okay, thanks. I’m going to plan it better. Those masks make me feel like I’m not getting enough air, which is stressful in itself. @Eddiesolds

I’m going to take all precautions, and hope for the best. When I press the nosepiece down to create a seal, I can hardly breathe through my nose, so have to breathe through my mouth. After awhile, I feel like I’m about to hyperventilate, and have to try and keep calm. It’s a horrible way to shop, but then all this is horrible. What kind of work do you do? @Eddiesolds

@Carissimi I do autobody. I wear masks always when I paint. Those are respirators. they are a different though.not like these little white ones.I dont like the white ones.i have to breath with my mouth with those on.i know what you're saying.its just important that they are tight.Have you got someone there that can help you with things like this, so you dont have to deal with it?

@Blaaah You’re talking about surgical masks. My mask is an N95. It filters out 95% of airborne particles.

I think it’s better than nothing, and they work quite well with dust and pollen. Even before this Corona virus pandemic, I wore surgical masks to dust, vacuum, or to clean pollen from my car, in spring. If I don’t wear them around these things ...or on a windy day...I can become quite ill, so some protection is better than nothing in my opinion. @Blaaah
