The figures here in England arent climbing as wildly as in italy, but is there any optimism about the virus anywhere?

SW-User
We are on the same path as Italy, just a little bit behind on the timeline. It will get a lot worse.

As for optimism, China has slowed the spread dramatically and Germany and even Italy are reporting some positive signs. These are all lockdown dependent though. Without the lockdowns it would likely just go nuts again.

Honestly the trajectory in the U.K. really sucks.

But things aren’t all that much better here either.

@QuixoticSoul Thanks for the graphic. We are screwed.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Burnley123 Problem is, anything you do now has a ten day lead time. But China, SK, etc show that it is possible to bring this thing under control.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@QuixoticSoul That is badically it. A lockdown three weeks ago would have slowed the increase in new cases. It still will but now its gonna start slowing only after we reach five thousands deaths and a hundred thousand confirmed infected.

China, South Korea, Japan. The severe lockdowns work to stop the spread.

UK is on the steep upward growth still due to poor compliance by its people.
Well I am from Winnipeg, in Canada and we have a world class virology lab and they figure they will have an anti viral treatment by end of summer. So that is something.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow What's the current deathtoll there?
@Marganitbatadam 24 deaths but we are already at 2091 cases. :(
China
South Korea

Shows this will end
@Imstucknow I was thinking about that but I haven’t heard much lately on Japan
Imstucknow · 41-45, F
@BiasForAction as far as I know they’ve started the lockdown about a month ago and was vigilant earlier on

@BiasForAction Japan isn’t telling them world anything.

Because Olympics.

Money rules all decisions.

We're exactly two weeks behind and will be escalating at the same rate if we don't follow government guidelines.

We got it later than Italy but our handling of it has been bad. We are on the verge of an explosion in cases.

A glimmer of recovery in China and Italy, but it's too early to be too optimistic.
