It's a pandemic scale, the panic was unwarranted but it is an official pandemic.

I bet there is a high correlation among covid deniers, climate change deniers and trump supporters. Y’all should keep up the rallies.

@SW-User CO(2) is good for trees. You didn't know that?
We need it to survive. A good tree-hugger would understand this.

There are a lot of cases. Most will be mild and the ones that need to be concerned are the elderly and those with compromised immune systems. I am self isolating as I don't want to harm anyone.

It’s an overreaction.

Given the global spread, yes it's a pandemic, but no, I don't personally know of anyone with it, and I believe we only have one quarantined case in our local hospital.

@justbob A commonly accepted timeline https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC340389/ is that 1918 pandemic influenza started in Kansas in January. Most deaths didn't occur until mid-September to December, which is consistent with what one would expect with exponentially growing infection.
The 1918 pandemic is, matter of fact, dwarfed by spread of COVID19 so far, though this can be largely attributed to way higher population and freedom, speed and amount of travel.

@YukikoAmagi I'm not trolling. I am genuinely skeptical. There seems to have been an immense over reaction.
@justbob but why don't you just use your main account?

If you don't live near one of the outbreak centers, then the odds of you being exposed or knowing someone who has been exposed is quite low.
I live in Seattle and I have friends and family in Boston. I know over a dozen people that have tested positive, a handful more that likely have it or have recovered.
Could you please tell folks about your experience with epidemiology?

It’s a pandemic.
I don’t know them personally but a couple of people in my area were diagnosed with the virus and one has covid-19.

I do know one but if people would only use precautions with Everything and EVERYONE... and stop the panic!
How would anyone know who has it?
7.8 Million people here and they have tested just 238 statewide as of Friday.....
