This is kind of interesting... do healthcare workers do that? Is there a difference if it's like "Well you have 20% chance of being infected!".
In principle, with nobody having pre-existing immunity, and vaccines reasonably years away, it seems given majority of people will have it at some point. Therefore, volunteering if I'm promised best care is kind-of no-brainer.
NOTE, this is different from the incredibly irresponsible & stupid idea of forcibly infecting everybody at the same time pushed by some people.
