@SW-User The flu doesn't have anything close to that level of mortality. Out of 32 million people with the flu, around 18,000 die; a mortality rate of around 0.05%. So you're off by a factor of 2000. While coronavirus probably won't have a 3.4% mortality rate, the effect of millions of people who don't die but are too sick to go to work is going to have a huge effect on the economy. Already, hotels, airlines, convention planners, etc. are feeling the hit, not to mention companies that rely on shipments from China.
