A Vaccine for the coronavirus?

Will there be one? How soon?

Is anyone here working in the health field, or in medical research? Anyone here know anything?

This issue has been addressed several times by the scientists on the coronavirus panel advising the White House. A vaccine can be developed relatively quickly, probably within a couple of months. Clinical trials of the vaccine need to be conducted before the vaccine can be made available to the public. That consists of at least two trials with increasing numbers of people. The absolute minimum to do the trials, demonstrate safety, and produce the vaccine for widespread use is a year. Eighteen months is more likely. So we will have a vaccine, but not before the fall/winter flu season of 2020/2021 is over.
