There is a high chance of me going inpatient in a little while and I am scared of the unknown. I have never done it before. Please help me understand what to expect.
My experience was a long time ago. The staff was kind but they have a routine. If you do your best not to interfere with them and don't give them a hard time, it will be easier.
They are doing what they are ordered to do. If there's a rule about smoking or going outside or whatever, it's not their rule and it's pointless to argue with them.
Try to be open and honest with the staff. Share all the knowledge you have about your illness. That will help them help you.
Don't be afraid. It's nobody's idea of a fun party, but if you work with the staff, the rest of your life might just be starting.
Leave anything that has drawstrings or shoelaces at home. Even the drawstrings of a hoodie. Bring a list of all medication. Bring change for phone calls and vending machines. Bring good socks and comfy slippers. Bring things to read. Leave all jewelry at home. Bring favorite blanket and bathrobe. Hope you feel better soon.
expect to be taken care of and dont fight there going to help you expect to have a conversations with a qualified doctor and be truthful lying to to them is not in your best interest good luck

Don't do anything silly. You need to take off your mind and focus on future.
