Anybody else think that the coronavirus.....

....was released on purpose by the Chinese government? It "escaped" from a government lab in Wuhan. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a biological weapon. The Chinese government is made up of authoritarian shit heads who care nothing about their citizens, just their power and agenda. At the very least I think they should be held accountable for this....they have started a pandemic.

Ignoring the crudity, the PRC's government may be authoritarian and callous, but they would not be so stupid as to "test" a weapon on their own population.

I am not a doctor but as I understand it there is nothing exceptional about this virus. Virii mutate all the time to stay ahead of people daring to develop natural resistance, as with the cold and influenza. That's why the cold is incurable and very difficult for the body to avoid, but at least it is normally fairly harmless. 'Flu can be fatal to someone already ill and very weak.

@ArishMell Forgive my ignorance. Misinformation and fear spread more rapidly than the virus itself. I shouldn't give in to that sort of thing.

We have just learnt that the doctor who identified the new virus has died, ironically, from it - and the authorities had initially tried to stop him revealing it.

Once it was really spreading they had little choice but to be frank about the epidemic, and take the actions they have.

Diseases like this do crop up every few years, and are fiendishly difficult to control.

Another item of news was the drop in Chinese shares values.... not sure what that says about the international money-traders.

No. It has jumped species like bird & swine flu. They happen in areas where live animals are regularly sold in general markets in largely Asia. Its a new mutation that can then be transmitted human to human. There's no great conspiracy we've seen it many times before.

So, the fact that almost everyone who has died so far is Chinese is another rascally trick. And its damaging their economy way worse than a Trump trade war could. I guess Trump will be claiming the credit soon.

New strains of the flu come out all the time. This is aparticularly nasty virus, that's all.
