What’s one of the worst physically painful incidents you’ve ever endured?

I can’t be certain, but one that I’ll never forget as long as I live was when I was a kid. I was somewhere between 7-9 years old, and I was sledding by myself down an embankment that lead to a baseball field behind my grandmothers house. I didn’t know after the sled came to a stop that there was a sheet of black ice under the snow. I got out of the sled, slipped, and landed on the back of my skull. I lay there for a couple minutes, dizzy and gritting my teeth. I was in a lot of pain. I eventually got up and went back in the house. The worst part is, I don’t think I ever told my mother or grandmother what happened to me. What if I had a concussion and later on I passed out and they had no idea what was wrong with me because they didn’t know how to help me?🤔 Stupid kid stuff. 😳🤷🏻‍♀️😯

Bone wracking chills from sepsis and a temperature of 105 that should have killed me. The chills came every six hours, and I would pray for them to end quickly so I could live until the next round.

@windinhishair It is wonder you survived.

@SweetMae I had young children to raise. There was no way I was leaving. When I later saw my doctor, he was shocked. He had already written me off.

@windinhishair My husband had that while he was stationed in Korea. He came very close to dying too.

@SweetMae Death is about 50/50. Jim Henson, The muppeteer, died from it.
