When you have a cut that's not healing and getting infected how do you deal with that?

I'm cleaning mine out with q-tips and I'm about to put some rubbing alcohol in it. I've done this before and it always works well.

I used to put salt on it to dry it out and try to leave it uncovered as much as possible.
