Do you ever get random disassociative moments?

Like you’re doing something or you’re somewhere, and then you have a split second of feeling...it’s hard to explain. Like you have to re-evaluate your surroundings because you get...out there. A little like how meditation can make you forget where/who you are but only for a split second. But it’s not exactly like you forget who you are.
Lately my body has also been freaking out, struck by sudden needs to shake parts of my body violently at times. I don’t really know what’s up...so if anyone has any experience or clue, I’d like to know.
And of course my body shakes. I am trembling a little bit at all times. I don’t remember when that started cause it was long ago.

I can't relate to the second part, but I can relate to the first. I occasionally have moments where I seem to forget where I am for a split second, and have to, like you said, "re-evaluate" my surroundings. It happens so fast, and at random times. I call these moments "blanks." I've been experiencing them since I was 11 or 12, but they're thankfully few and far between.

@SW-User that’s annoying. Do you feel somewhat light-headed when it happens? Wow why so long?

@ShaythePanTransMan I do feel kind of light-headed when it happens. And I'm not sure why it's been happening for so long. It's never been severe enough for me to bring it up to my doctor.

@SW-User Hm, that’s strange.

I dissociate when I have a bad panic attack.
ShaythePanTransMan · 22-25, T
@Nebula oh! That makes sense when you’re that upset. I haven’t had a panic attack for 3 years now though. (okay well I believe I had a mini one a week ago but I’m not counting it)
Nebula · 41-45, F
I haven't had a full on one in quite some time, thank goodness because last year and the year before were really bad.

Sounds like you should talk to a professional. I wouldn't mess with this shit. It's scary. Every now and then, I think that I'm looking at myself driving on the highway and it's terrifying. I've battled OCD and what I believe was mild PTSD and you can't do it alone.
ShaythePanTransMan · 22-25, T
@uncalled4 I don’t think it’s that bad. Just a little odd.... I don’t really like my psychiatrist much too. I’ve had her for...damn...2 years now? I’m taking Viibryd and Seroquel.

Oh, so you get flashbacks? That’s really hard.... I don’t have OCD, but I have an obsessive-compulsive behavior that I’ve done for 10 years now. Did you...”get over” your OCD? I don’t know if you can even treat OCD....
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@ShaythePanTransMan You definitely can, through CBT and meds if necessary. I didn't get flashbacks, per se; I got into this mindset where everyone I saw was triggering a fight-or-flight response. It made no difference that I knew it was bullshit.

Boy, what a pile of shit the mind is.
ShaythePanTransMan · 22-25, T
@uncalled4 so you...don’t do it anymore? That’s insane I can’t imagine not doing what I’ve been doing for 10 years man. Literally the earliest memory I can think of was me doing that behavior.

Oh wow. That isn’t good.

It can be. I think it’s the most interesting organ.
