Why am I so weird

I’m so picky about my food that I can’t enjoy it, ever. I’ve been making homemade sandwiches with spinach, tomato, pickles and cheese, and the whole time I eat it, I can’t think of anything except how gross the texture of the tomatoes is and how soggy the spinach is. I also think about how cheese is made and how gross that process is. If I made any changes to the sandwiches, I would find things wrong with that, too.

I know it sounds like a small issue but I actually suffer from it. It’s every day, every meal. I’m just constantly disgusted by my food. I want it to stop.

Is it just a texture thing?

@SW-User No. I think about the texture, I think about how it’s made/grown, all the gross stuff it comes across, how cheese is just something that comes from a cow’s body, how bugs probably crawled all over the pickles while they were growing as cucumbers, how a person had to touch the cucumbers and handle them in order to make them pickles, maybe the person is gross, doesn’t wash their hands, on and on...

@SinlessOnslaught Sounds like a bit of OCD. Have you ever tried CBT or exposure and response therapy? It can be really helpful for people with intrusive thoughts like that

@SW-User I’ll look into it.
