Are you familiar with Cymbalta?

I've been on 60mg for 10 years, and recently had it bumped up to 120mg. I'm more depressed than ever now, and all I can think about is suicide. Can an increased dosage have that effect? Has anyone here had anything like this happen?

Whatever you do, do NOT stop it on your own. I was on it years ago for nerve and joint pain. I weaned off as I was told to and had still had serious side effects. I no joke thought I was dying from the pain I felt and mentally, a dr thought I was having a stroke and I ended up w/Trigeminal Neuralgia from it shocking my system- it’s permanent and known to be one of the worst painful conditions around.

Are you on any other meds? One of my best friends took her life right after a diff dr added a med too high of a dose that shouldn’t have been mixed w/the Cymbalta.. Please see a Dr, that stuff is no joke. My friend would never have done that off the meds, I pushed it and the fam found out it was the meds and got a lawyer.

@MellyMel22 That's the only one I'm on. Would it be safe to go back down to 60mg? I'm familiar with the effects of going without it, and it truly is horrible. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. That worries me.

@Dragonfly I wouldn’t, you really should call your Dr and ask if you can’t get in to see him/her. I’m sure they changed the weening instructions by now after the lawsuits- it’s safest to ask your Dr. It’s not worth taking the chance.

@MellyMel22 They scheduled me for in the morning. I'm just going to relax until then. I don't take my meds again until tomorrow afternoon, anyhow. I will have seen her by then.
