Please advise: I would like to start therapy, but I don't know what to say

I have a lot to unload, and I don't know where to begin or what I should and shouldn't tell a therapist or anything like that. I don't want to say a bunch of stuff and immediately get misunderstood for communicating poorly/unexpectedly. I want to make the right impression so that my experience with the therapist doesn't become a shitshow that I can't recover from.

You want to make the right impression on the therapist?

@WizardOfAahs I'm afraid of getting pigeonholed as something I'm not and wasting lots of time and money on them trying to help me as if I fit neatly into some box in their head

@Loser you think the therapist wants to push you to be something you are not.

@WizardOfAahs No, I'm worried that they'll misunderstand me and I'll just be wasting my time

@Loser you think it’s a waste of time and money. That they will intentionally scam you or they will be incompetent

@WizardOfAahs I don't think that therapists are malevolent, I just think that they're normal people who deal with lots of other (basically) normal people, and here I am having never felt like a person in my life. I just can't see it working for me, but I very badly need someone to talk to.

@Loser you feel stuck. You would like to talk to someone but skeptical it will work

@Loser Difficult position to be in. Must be frustrating... maybe a bit scary
