Can you fast to lose weight even when you’re very thin?

My friend is fasting because he’s trying to burn fat but he’s really tall and skinny...could that hurt him? I don’t know much about it but if you’re thinner, isn’t the goal to eat more proteins etc, to bulk up? Just curious.

If you do not eat then your body will breakdown stored energy but muscle can also be lost. Have you seen starvation victims such as anorexics or photos from Holocaust survivors. They are skin and bone because muscle has wasted away. This is extreme and most people dont have willpower to starve when food is available.
Fasting has benefits and is not bad even for a thin person but hopefully he is fasting and not starving. If he is so thin why does he want to lose weight?
If he starves himself he can impact his metabolism negatively as well.

That’s exactly my point. He is already very thin. Even to the point where I can see his rib indentation.

One time he even told me that he was obese which is ridiculous. @REMsleep

@Sb356 Its sounds like you might be describing an eating disorder such as anorexia.

Yeah that’s what I’m afraid of but I don’t know him well enough to approach him about that..@REMsleep
