I just got diagnosed with Diverticulitis. Does anyone have any solid advice on how to deal with this disease?

I am miserable!

A good friend of mine had that for years and did everything the Docs told him but it still kept bothering him and taking those potent antibiotics, Flagyl and Ciprofloxacin.
Earlier this year, he a resection surgery to remove the section of intestines that was worse and it hasn't bothered him since.
Constipation is your worst enemy.

@SW-User Yes it is. I keep getting constipated though even drinking water, eating loads of fiber, and walking. I've had problems with urination too. It's so painful. The antibiotics seem to make it worse not better.

@Mk8155 Wasn't me, just a really good friend.

@GhostGirl He was drinking some Milk of Magnesia every morning to help and it did some.

@SW-User I will try that. I heard that can help move things along. They have me taking a fiber supplement and if after two days of not evacuating they want me to use something like Miralax. Problem is most of that stuff does nothing for me. :(

Thanks everyone for your comments. It really helps.

@GhostGirl Milk of Magnesia will! Plus it's the mildest on your system.
