I just got diagnosed with Diverticulitis. Does anyone have any solid advice on how to deal with this disease?

I am miserable!

There are habits that help.

Avoid raw vegetables (in salads and so).
Same as grains, beans, corn and fibers.
Also pepper and whatever may irritate there.

Keep hydrataded.
Evacuate with regularity.

@CharlieZ All beans? ex Soybeans, and garbanzo beans?

@GhostGirl The problem is not in the beans itselves.
But in all where husks remain and are eaten.
So all or almost all beans.

and also what is made of "integral" flowrs.

@CharlieZ Ok that makes sense. Soybeans give me horrible gas. I started to stay away from them. I will stop with the nut milks for awhile and see if that helps. Almond milk seems less irritating but I will stop all and see if that helps. Thanks for the tip.

@GhostGirl Try this kind of dessert. It helps.
But not with kiwis.

@CharlieZ I went gluten free about six weeks back. It's been hard to find any bread at all that doesn't cause major constipation which in turn causes my intestines to react.

@GhostGirl Had been checked on intolerance to lactose?

@CharlieZ Yes I've cut all dairy from my diet. Awhile back before being hospitalized they put me on a laxative called Laculose. It made it so bad I think that's what eventually led me to the hospital. Why is it so many Doctors don't get it? Seems that only a GI Dr. who saw me had any idea of what I was going though.

@GhostGirl Not all docs are good ones.
