Anyone here wear a hearing aid?

In my case I just got a pair of them. The sound is OK, and I adjusted to it fairly quickly. But I hate the way it feels. The two little plugs feel uncomfortable. I have trouble inserting them properly. And sometimes they itch. I've had them for just over a week. I have not quite 2 months now to decide to keep them or upgrade. They have wiped out my savings although I did get some help from my health insurance. If I had to, I could come up with a little bit more and upgrade. I am wondering if there are hearing aids you don't have to actually put into your ears, and if that would be very expensive. My hearing loss is not profound and is mostly in my left ear. In fact, I was managing pretty well except for phone calls and ambient noise situations. I got scared into this by reading about the association between hearing loss and senile dementia and Alzheimer's. I probably do need hearing aids; the audiologist at Kaiser strongly recommended it. Anyone who can advise me on this? I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this kind of experience. At my age, when it comes to any discomfort or difficulties, I am usually told, "You'll just have to get used to it."

Follow ur doc's advice..but would recommend the expensive ones.. don't even feel them. I've heard of dementia and hearing loss link, but many young people have hearing loss because of loud music..so depends..
