i'm addicted to chips, especially cheetos, help me...

i'm trying to quit those for so long but soon i fall again back to the bad habit. And i can never eat just a few, it has to be the whole pack.
The thing is i'm generally eating healthy only to spoil my diet with these shit. I eat about 2-3-4 packages a week though i cannot be very specific. what to do? i manage to go without for sometime but then i fell back at it. I've managed to quit smoking almost a year now, but cheetos i find it even harder!!!! isn't it crazy..

They are designed to be addictive with their salt and fat and lack of long-term satisfaction. Can you stop buying them? Are there other things you like to eat that would be better for you? Snacking in general is bad because it makes our insulin always high even between meals.

@Offthetop thanks, they're empty i know, just satisfying for the moment. But SO satisfying sometimes, they feel better than coffee in the way they instantly get me up.

@Offthetop hmm perhaps i could substitute them with coffee...and then try to quit coffee, which i don't find so hard to quit..?

Sounds like a workable plan. Carbs are the hardest thing to give up because of that blood sugar / insulin roller coaster. I fast for periods up to 24 hours and there’s o way I could’ve gotten to that point if I still had carb cravings. If you were able to quit smoking you can do this too.@elafina

@Offthetop so you've quit all carbs? May i ask what do you include in your diet?
As i try to shift to a more vegetarian diet, it is difficult to quit carbs too..that for the moment.

@elafina not quite all carbs but all junky carbs. It’s easy to just skip the starch part of a meal. It’s hard to be vegetarian and low carb. A lot of my meals are slaw with homemade vinaigrette and sone sort of meat on top. Sometimes I do a vegan option using pumpkin seeds and walnuts. The big key for me is eating less often and going low carb was a step along the way for that.
