All of the hair on your body is biologically programmed to stop growing after a certain length. Your facial hair and the hair on your head are the same. They too have a maximum length they can reach before they simply stop growing. One theory is that the brain and genitals need the most protection from cold and exposure, so those are the areas where hair grows the most.
