51% of millennials have no romantic partner.

I heard on the radio this morning that 51% of millennials have no romantic partner.
WTF? Do you care to offer your ideas to explain?
Millennials: Born 1981-1996 (22-37 years old)

[I am suggesting that 51% sounds like a big number of people not in a committed relationship at an age when couples historically are building futures together.]

I think a lot of the younger generation sees the amount of divorce in the world, and are thus more hesitant to jump in to marriage at such a young age. Additionally, a change in today's time are that women are more interested in our careers, as opposed to what it used to be like back in the day...just marrying and popping out babies. I know for me personally, I find my career to be my primary focus, and when that is the case, you aren't as interested in "settling down".
