51% of millennials have no romantic partner.

I heard on the radio this morning that 51% of millennials have no romantic partner.
WTF? Do you care to offer your ideas to explain?
Millennials: Born 1981-1996 (22-37 years old)

[I am suggesting that 51% sounds like a big number of people not in a committed relationship at an age when couples historically are building futures together.]

Romantic partners and non-committed sex are very different things. I would also say that probably 48% of that 51% keep changing gender identities from week to week which could also be a reason.
