51% of millennials have no romantic partner.

I heard on the radio this morning that 51% of millennials have no romantic partner.
WTF? Do you care to offer your ideas to explain?
Millennials: Born 1981-1996 (22-37 years old)

[I am suggesting that 51% sounds like a big number of people not in a committed relationship at an age when couples historically are building futures together.]

@Dewms Teens, not children, teens.
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@Budwick They remain thinking on themselves as Peter, while they become more like in between Captain Hook and Tick-Tock the Crocodile.

@CharlieZ Charlie, you and I are close in age. We would have been their age back in the 80's.

By that time I had finished college, served in the Army, married with 2nd kid on the way, had a mortgage and two car payments. I'm not bragging, I mean everyone I knew had similar stories. I bet yours is too.

Very dramatic social changes in the last few decades. Did we break society?
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@Budwick You can bet safelly on that.
By 18 I lived by my own, worked earning like a grown up adult while studying sciences.
As a young man I was married with (by then) two kids and two mayor academic degrees.
By my forties I was the single father rising three daugters on my own while in the cutting edge of my professional fields.
And here I am.

No, we did not break society.
Our rebelious generation did our best to save society from an earlier decadence. But was not enough.
So here we are.

@CharlieZ I like you Charlie!

Tomorrow morning when I take the pups out, I'll bring my coffee with me, look to the rising sun, and raise my cup in your honor.
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@Budwick I´m honoured by your friendship, bro!🍻

BTW, I military served my country twice.
Once in my 20´s, as by those years were a law stablished citizen duty to train for (tipically) a year.
The second time I was called, as a reservist, special forces, when the South Atlantic war (1982).
