51% of millennials have no romantic partner.

I heard on the radio this morning that 51% of millennials have no romantic partner.
WTF? Do you care to offer your ideas to explain?
Millennials: Born 1981-1996 (22-37 years old)

[I am suggesting that 51% sounds like a big number of people not in a committed relationship at an age when couples historically are building futures together.]

Worst.
I can´t see what in hell they call romantic (commited, exclusive, in love, significative, a main priority, you name it) in the 81% of the ones who say they have it.
But I know, I am an old schooled babby boomer.
