Is it possible for a pet to survive having a length of its intestines pulled out?

I don't know how bad it is yet, but something apparently attacked our cat Amber and we're taking her to the animal ER.

@ScarletWitch Yeah; I don't even know how to feel, this is really, really awful. She's just in a box right now and it's storming outside.

@TeirdalinFirefall they may just need to remove the intestines. My grandmother had ulcers in her intestines that they had to remove it all except 6 inches... it was horrible for her. She lived for a while longer, but she used the bathroom constantly. So you may have to put her down if she is in too much pain.

@ScarletWitch We just plain didn't have the money and the chance of surviving was too low; so we had to put her down.
