It's much different for an older person with a sodium issue. The problem we had was over exerting especially in hot weather. You drink so much water trying to stay cool that you flush your electrolytes out of your body. Can cause many symptoms including heart problems. I got very nauseated and sick, and then passed out.

IV therapy, and a good meal that evening. Took a couple of days to feel right again. I was pretty close to heat stroke.

Better see what a doc says, he may need supplements or IV if that's even for sure what it is.

The doctor has prescribed sodium tablets and is closely monitoring him.
