Just be inspiring somehow and motivate him. Encourage him to at least slow down on the drinking. He could do stretches for the back pain. Taking hot baths would ease both the knee and back, maybe at night before he goes to bed. I had a similar thing. I had an older guy friend that was an alcoholic and had a bad arm that bothered him. He told me he wanted to start taking walks and start getting healthy. I told him I would take walks with him, but never got around to it. I regret it now because a couple years after that he just suddenly died one day. He seemed kinda depressed before he died. I really think he just let himself go. The alcohol and the bum arm and the depression and not having anything going on in life, all of that together sent him to an early grave

Also, tell him to take vitamins. It's pointless going to the doctor for back pain and stuff. All that will do is the doctor will give him pain pills and then he could get addicted! Or offer surgery which could mess a person up even more

@Motleycrue667 But what about gym? Should I take him to gym and at least get him to use the treadmill after he is stretching? I’m just worrying about his heart while he’s on treadmill.

@Soyoungrightnow Btw forgot about your friend. Sorry to hear that. At least you did your best.

Try to spend time with him and while you do that, stay away from alcohol and go for walks for example. Assure him that you're there for him and encourage him to go to a doctor (if he hasn't already). Lead him into a healthier lifestyle.

@HannibalAteMeOut Already dome that. I managed to help him stop drinking and he’s sober. I was thinking about going to gym with him but not sure about it. Maybe take it all slowly. Maybe step by step?

@Soyoungrightnow yes, of course step by step is always better because it will get him prepared and he won't want to give up. Good for you for being such a helpful friend!

Turn him in to the police.
Soyoungrightnow · 36-40, M
@Jack4054 Why would I do that? By the way he stopped drinking and no longer drunk.
@Soyoungrightnow yeah, don't do that.

@Soyoungrightnow Wink, wink
Tell him to go to the ER
