Would you not want to know as much as you can about your spouse/S/O 's illness so that you knew how you can help in some way ?

I'm always there helping my husband and learning what I can to help him,,but he rarely ever ask how my Dr.appointments go,,I've been in the hospital twice he didn't ask for our children to bring him to visit,he doesn't drive anymore,his choice,,He got sick and just gave up,,I can't as I have children and grandchildren to think about and I take care of him 24/7 because he refuses to let anyone else help him,even though he had to ask for help when I was hospitalized,but to me he should care as much about my illness as I do him, Rant over..
