Would you not want to know as much as you can about your spouse/S/O 's illness so that you knew how you can help in some way ?
Would you not want to know more than you think you know ? To understand?

I have been there!
I didn't know how bad it was when we were dating. Once we got engaged it got worse and when we were getting married he was not great!
He used to always say "never worry until I'm worried"
I did have to do research h as he is one very private man even with me!
