When I changed my diet after diagnoses I lost quite a bit of weight, and it helped a lot. A close friend had weight loss surgery, lost half her weight and is now asymptomatic for diabetes. It's basically gone.

@bijouxbroussard Was that bariatric surgery? Because I don't think my 🐻 is chubby enough to get approved for it, and I wouldn't trust anyone to cut him open unless it was really a last resort.

@purplepen 😅As I was reading your answer, I saw "I wouldn't trust anyone to cut him open unless" and I actually thought you were going to say " unless it was me"

@purplepen I believe so. My youngest uncle also lost a great deal of weight naturally, with the same result. He's been asymptomatic for 3 years now. Does your partner take insulin ?
purplepen · 51-55, F
@bijouxbroussard No, metformin.

@purplepen That's what I take, and what my uncle took as well. My friend was on insulin injections, but she no longer requires them.

@Serenitree I think he would trust me to cut him open more than he'd trust a surgeon. But I wouldn't trust myself either because it's beyond my skill level.

@bijouxbroussard Good to know. Insulin injections are pretty drastic compared to metformin.

@purplepen Yes. I'm trying to avoid that stage at all costs.
