Is eating 1000 calories a day safe or do you think your body can't survive on that caloric deficit?

I can survive but I wouldn’t want to. I think a typical veggie burger weighs in at about 150 cals.

@SimplyTracie I eat about 1200 calories on average, maybe less some days. I some times wonder if it's going to have a negative impact on my body in the long run.

@justicexoxoxo I don’t think so. I think a lot diets is considered bad is due to the sodium and other stuff in the foods they eat and not the caloric count.

@SimplyTracie That's a good point. If I burn 200 calories, but ate 1200 calories, does that mean my caloric deficit is 1000 or still 1200?

@justicexoxoxo Are you trying to lose weight? I think the accepted average calorie count is around 2000. Which means your 1200 caloric diet has a deficit of 800 calories.

@SimplyTracie Well it's not always 1200. Some times I'll eat a bit more or less. I don't exercise daily so it's only few days out of the week I'll do that. I feel like maybe I should be at 1500 caloric deficit and burn 200 , that way I'll still be 1200 at the end.

@justicexoxoxo Why is having a deficit important to you? Most important is a proper diet. For example, I believe you need calcium in your diet to ward off diseases like osteoporosis.

@SimplyTracie I'm trying to meet a specific weight goal. I eat lots of fruit. I do get what you're saying. It's true.

@justicexoxoxo It’s a 100% confusing topic. Hundreds of dietitians around with 100’s of diets to choose from. Too many authors.

One thing I do believe in is that we should eat meat sparingly.
