Rather than a totall unjustified 'dislike' for something that may or may not actually help, look at your problem
analytically.
You presented a problem to your physician, they made a medical judgement based on your need and presumably previous medical history and issued medication accordingly.

Now. The LOGICAL thing to do would be to read the Do's and Don'ts on the info. pamphlet accompanying your tablets.
Ensure you do what it says.
Take your tablets at EXACTLY the same time everyday.
Keep a diary of how you feel; what you do; how well you eat; how well you sleep; how much exercise you get.

See if you can do this for a couple of weeks.
Has to be at least that long in order to notice any effect.

If you can let friends and/or family know you are about to embark on this course of medication, they can let you know if your mood/behaviour changes for the better or worse.
