No. It's one of those newer and more unpredictable SSRI's that tend to be over-prescribed for anxiety when a common side effect is more anxiety. Abilify is another thing that they commonly prescribe (off label) for anxiety, and it's another under-researched drug that can worsen anxiety or even throw a person into full scale psychosis. I'd try zoloft or paxil before I'd mess with celexa or abilify or any of the new drugs. Also if you're suffering from clinical level anxiety, you might have thyroid issues that the doctors haven't tested fully, so it would be more helpful if they did comprehensive blood work instead of giving you celexa.

Thank you, and yeah, the first thing she tested was my thyroid. I've had anxiety since childhood, but lately it gets so bad that I call 911. I think I'm gonna try CBD oil

@purplepen I took Celexa for a while and it made my anxiety so much worse and made me feel a bit manic. I did not find any relief from it.

I'll try it thanks purplepen

@SW-User I'm not surprised. I hope you filed an adverse reaction report.

@SW-User that's what I'm afraid of

@Nebula I think it's different for different people but it scared me off SSRIs. You may find it doesn't effect you the same way or if you are really concerned see if your doctor can prescribe a different older med

Ok. I prefer to take supplements. I've been taking L-theanine and was gonna start to take GABBA
