@math7 if you were in medical school, no matter where you are studying they would have told you not to give medical advice to anyone not knowing their medical history. You either aren’t a medical student or you are without basic medical ethics ! Either way it’s a problem.

@math7 those sites are always equipped with the necessary disclaimers. All your saying is that you’re close to being a doctor and you’re giving free medical advice. This is dangerous on many levels and is wholly irresponsible!

@math7 Young man you only validate our question .
In certain situations you do have to act with what you see ,as was in my case doing search and rescue ,
If the patient is unconscious or unable to give me basic information ,then there are set standard procedures to follow ,and its like medication ,
Will my not doing anything cost do more harm ,our is my attempting to render aid more likely to save a life ,,
I have been cussed out by people for not letting them die ,the quality of life they had afterwards was not worth living ,but that wasn't my call ,I was not allowed to call it ,we started life saving procedures and transport .
I have found victims in extremely cold water ,deprived of oxygen an extremely long time ,we treated them for Hypothermia and started Resuscitation procedures while underway ,often for hours ,and they make a full recovery ,no apparent brain damage ,it was not our call to say "We have a body " our call was we have an apparent "Drowning victim " we are following standard procedures and we are en route to such and such hospital ,vitals are as follow ,then we wait on further instructions from someone with proper authority to tell us if we should alter normal operating procedures .
But as I mentioned ,not knowing what medications I am taking and the adverse reaction even over the counter meds could cause ,is foolish ,
some could actually make me stroke out ,,so why would a young man ,saying he is a practicing doctor not see a problem with that ?
Even herbs and supplements can't be mixed with the medications I take ,such a drastic change in my BP could kill me ,so you would not want a history to know that ?
I also have an autoimmune disease triggered by a vaccine I was given in boot camp
It was discontinued when solders started dropping like flies ,some died right away ,some of us have had to live with the side effects every since .
And you ,about to be an MD as you say ,you see no problem with that ?
We need to produce a law for you to say how irresponsible that would be ?

Based on that alone ,I call BS
As to my grammar ,I quit school at age 15 ,I was tired from working a full time job and going to school full time .
I did however take the Naval Battery Test at age 16 and was accepted to join the hardest service to get into in our country, The United States Coast Guard ,
Since I was not old enough to go right on to boot camp I was put on a delayed enlistment programs ,and 2 weeks after I turned 17 I was in basic training ,
Approximately 8 months later I had qualified as Boat Seaman ,and shortly after Small Boat engineer .all of us are trained in advanced life saving techniques .
I was part of a 3 man crew ,that did everything from fire fighting ,damage control ,marine safety ,Law Enforcement ,and Search and Rescue ..

I have saved lives in some of the most adverse conditions you can imagine ,and I have lost some ,,I am very well trained in advanced life saving procedures ,
(even if my grammar sucks ,I know how to save lives ,and I have )
Often we had to go through a set procedure to determine what is necessary to save this person who is unconscious or unable to speak (so no history ,I have to go on the vitals I take on scene )After I get a heart to beat again and them breathing many many times .but the fact is ,this uneducated country boy saved lives .
So sorry about the grammar ,never claimed to be smart
Just experienced in certain fields ,and smart enough to know
Only an IDIOT would attempt to diagnose over the net without knowing someones history and at least what meds they are currently on

You should not need to see any law to know thats just plain dumb
And any "Real" doctor would agree ,,or PA , RN ,PNP ,PCA ,CNA ,even my garbage man
You can know every term and symptom in the book and still lack common sense
To brag on all those qualifications ,but not need a history ,shows lack of common sense ,,and the standard laws and ethics you claim don't exist

Here you go ,look them up https://www.ama-assn.org/delivering-care/ama-code-medical-ethics

@math7 No I am done ,if all I have said ,and you still can't get where I am coming from ,I'm done ,
I was only messing with you in the beginning ,
Then your blind arrogance made me mad ,but now I am over it .
But with all that so called education and and that link explains some ethics
I am done
I only have a 10th grade Education ,but I have more sense than to believe you are what you say you are ,seems common sense eludes you .

I don't wish you or your "Patients" any bad luck
But if thats your standard of care ,
I'll stick with the quacks we have here .
At least my new doctor took the time to look through the book they call my records ,
He agreed someone should pay for all I have been through ,and now the VA wants to make me service connected and pay me back pay .
All I ever wanted was them to help me stop hurting ,and to quit trying to make me out a liar .
Now they know I am not a liar ,and they screwed up big time
But at least they always took my vitals
have a good one young man ,,may God be with you and your patients

@math7 Thats what I do ,offer common knowledge with a little wisdom I have gained from patching people up until they can be seen by a qualified Professional ,who has the ability to do a complete work up and proper diagnoses ,and with that info advise how to proceed ,,in this setting ,I advise them to go to the ER ,unless its something minor that any good Mom could tell you .
But I am sorry if I was also arrogant ,but these people I care about
Please don't toy with them
Dysfunctional as hell ,but we are a family ,and I fight for my family
Hope that much is clear ,
don't harm any of them over stepping your bounds and you and I can be friends
Have a blessed day
I am Rick
See ya around the playground

@math7 keep up the good work advicing people on Medicine and all. It might be helpful to someone who went to many doctors, still didn't get proper cure.☺️ . It's a good initiative.
