JarJarBoom · 41-45, F

Do they sing you to sleep?

The number is a tad high. It isn't just the stains that age a mattress, but body fibers released each night. That is what the brownish "stains" on it is. It is years of tiny body fibers (dead skin) released each time you lay on it.
This came from a dermatologist I had once who gave me a lot of advice about using a wash cloth and rinsing it out after each use since there are fibers on it after each use, as well. Much of the fibers come from you head and back, so whenever I dry, I use the towel as a washcloth and change towels after every few showers. Now, my towel has brown fibers on it!

I have problems with my back, SO I bought an orthopedic mattress/pillows 3 years ago, was kinda expensive but totally worth it.
goagainsttheflow · 26-30, F
I've had the mattress, no the whole bed, ever since I outgrew my crib!

Sure is and none the worse for wear...i don't believe that 8-year crap, they wouldn't have warranties on mattresses for 10-15 years if it was true.
JanDaw · 56-60, F
Lol that is true
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
My mattress is close to 20 years old, it doesn't sag and I turn it every once in a while, have kept a mattress cover on it since I bought it.
CarmenSanDiego · 41-45, F
9 years now. But it's a high quality mattress and honestly just as comfy as the day I got it!

8 years is unbelievably long. Once a year should be okay.
JanDaw · 56-60, F
You would only just have broken it in !
I thought it was 7, oh well, I just bought a new set. Very comfy.

I've had mine for 15 years.. it's a name brand and is still quite comfortable but it IS getting a little worn... Probably has a couple more years in it..
TwiddlerofThumbs · F
It used to be only when I had to buy one did I. But, in the last 15 years I've had three beds and I'm about to buy a new one.

No.... not yet... but they do make them to last longer...
SW-User
I'm averaging about every 10-15 years right now...
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F

Imbecky · 31-35, F
