If you want to get out of your head, get into your body. Pay attention to your senses. Focus on what you feel, smell, taste, hear, and see. Breathe. Remind yourself that this moment is more precious than any other moment you may be creating in your head, and that you will handle life's problems when they come.

For sleeping, try progressive relaxation. You could also try box breathing to calm down.
