Why do we say we are fine when we are really not?

Because we don't need no sympathy from anyone, so we're fine the way we are

Because I don't want to go into why I'm not fine. I'm fine.

so people will leave us alone about it

Self-defense. Being 'not fine' is vulnerable.

Coz I will eventually be fine
