Is a bad period a valid sick leave excuse?

Literally been taken ibuprofen & paracetamol for it.
It's heavy. Changing every couple of hours.
I'm mentally and physically wiped out.
I don't usually get then like this and as you guys know I've spent the weekend feeling pretty low borderline suicidal.

@SomeLikeItHot Not all places of work have a HR department - just call in sick as advise them you are unwell

@nedkelly @SomeLikeItHot the only evidence I have is the fact that I'll still be bleeding tomorrow and for the next 6 days... this isn't something I usually experience.
I usually just get on with it.
