I been running for 12 years. My energy is slowly decreasing so I don't do it as much, maybe once a week. I can't say I always LOVED it. I never hated it, but I always liked the results, that's what I focused on.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
@Okieta your energy is decreasing at 25??

Red30 · 31-35, F
I loved running... could only run for about 30 mins and then i'd almost die but it was a happy i'm-gonna-die feeling. Had to stop because of my shin splints or whatever they're called. Sore shins.
Red30 · 31-35, F
Didn't realise you could run the problem out! :o
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
@Red30 well it worked for me - i went from the couch to a runner too fast and the splints really hurt - take smaller distances and work up - let them heal first and also get adequate rest.
Red30 · 31-35, F
@NiftyWhite I might give it a try. When i'm on a walk, i sometimes feeling like running suddenly! haha... also, i'm now getting adverts on shin pain on my browser.... ugh.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Yeah, some people experience a runner's high. I hated running my whole life until about 30 I learned about proper shoes, breathing and cadence. I learned how good you can feel after if you do it right.
Groofydorkgerdo · 56-60, M
I use to back in my youngun days.
I lived in Orange.County California where streets would be backed up.
I was proud of the fact I could get across town faster on foot faster than people in cars.
cycleman · 61-69, M
nope, but I sure can do that cycling. get me out in the country roads and I am going too far away. Then needing to cycle back is torturous.
It wish. Then it wouldn’t take me 2 hours to get in my steps. I run, but it is a challenge. I am slowly building up my endurance. Maybe once it is easier, and I can go longer distances, I will love it.

I love riding my bicycle, though. Feeling the breeze. It feels freeing. That is a good feeling.
@NiftyWhite 10,000 at the moment. I don’t record every single step throughout my day. If I walk 5 mi that gets me where I need to be usually.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
@midnightrose have u seen results with that?
Tatsumi · 31-35, M
Cardio is evil. Cardio is the enemy of gains.

That said, I used to enjoy jogging before I came to Iron. Which is sorta like coming to Christ, but with more devotion, worship, and guilt.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
@Tatsumi lol well i used to be a fitness trainer and there’s no way you will convince me cardio is the enemy of gains lol. you need both cardio and iron to be fit .
Tatsumi · 31-35, M
@NiftyWhite ...O_o You speaketh blasphemy, witch.

I'm guessing you didn't train dudes for mass.

I guaruntee you cardio is a gains killer. It burns calories that are needed for supercompensation and growth, burns fat, and leans you out. That's why joggers are so effin' skinny.

The only exception is HIIT training, which stimulates anabolism.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
cardio burns fat. that’s true. but you don’t have to lift weights to gain that kind of “mass”. if you’re weight training and eating properly, cardio doesn’t hurt muscle mass. i’m a fitness competitor. pretty sure i know what i’m doing lol.
