Are you prone to kidney stones, or someone you know?

Many people believe that kidney stones are caused by an excess of calcium, but in fact it is a lack of magnesium that is the culprit. Magnesium prevents the formation of these stones by inhibiting the binding of calcium with oxalate, the two compounds which make up these stones. Kidney stones can be excruciatingly painful, so it is good to know that something as simple as magnesium supplementation can prevent them!

Thanks for the tip! I've had several; the worst required lithotripsy to break up.And I won't even "go there" about the stent. Ouch!

I know someone who's had them 3 times, the first time spent 42 days in the hospital because the surgeon accidentally lacerated his urethra and he needed microsurgery.
Magnesium deficiency is also thought to play a role in the formation of bone spurs...I've been taking it for a few years now, think as we get older it is harder to absorb or retain.

Grace2016 Please come over to our site and post your magnesium findings in our new forum. You will see my painful story and readers would benefit by your suggestion. I too am on a magnesium supplement prescribed by my specialist. http://kidneystones.care

corn silk tea and lemon juice will also help break up kidney stones, gotta rinse your mouth well because the acid is hard on the tooth enamel.

Regg: Thank you. I will do that soon.
