i want to spend an hour at the gym

is it better to lift weights for 30 mins with cardio for 30? or should i do one hour of just cardio? im trying to shed some pounds.

Depends on your fitness level. BUT DO NOT WORKOUT THE SAME MUSCLE OVER AN HOUR! You risk injury.

But, honestly, it doesn't matter how long you work out. It starts with what you put in your body.

That is the major bulk of this war!

Don't get me wrong, do workout because it speeds up your metabolism and helps you increase endurance, or tone up (depending what you're doing). Plus, a bunch of other benefits, but to lose weight? Not necessarily in the way you're thinking.
