Is it possible to change or work on a negative symptom of schizophrenia

I just copied this from the internet it is one of the negative symptoms of schizophrenia that I want to work on.... person may have a lack of interest in activities that previously were important to them such as their work or studies or recreational activities such as sports. They may also stop looking after themselves properly and their personal hygiene and appearance may suffer noticeably. They may be reluctant to leave the house or even their bedroom and may lie in bed for the larger part of the day.

I've heard of high functioning schizophrenics I wish I was that. It would simply mean stepping out of my comfort zone, if I have another relapse and am sick its fine to be in bed, but my head is in a good place right now if only my body could be too. I need to work on endurance, maybe getting a job could build that for me.

@schizosaint You need a supervisor that understands what predictable behavior for you is like. That way they could react in a way that doesn't aggravate your emotions.

Yes it is
A book I'd recommend: Beyond Fear by Dorothy Rowe

You can work with someone to manage the symptoms of negative affect, but with schizophrenia the typical treatment method necessarily includes medications. Medication management and maintenance can be done with a therapist of psychiatrist. Good luck.

That sounds like the symptoms of clinical depression. It is interesting that it would be common as far as symptoms.
