Is it good to want clarity on a mental illness even if you think it's nothing major?

@ Salix75 When you have had some mild anxiety that you have been able to deal with other than the odd funny turn. But suddenly find yourself unable to cope.

@Sroonaka616 That's sort of what my original question was getting at. Mental illness is so tricky to catch, we often are halfway down the rabbit hole before we recognize how far we've gone. That's why I think any instance should be given due consideration and attention. In my experience, it's not one big event that plunges people into mental distress (anxiety, depression, for example), it's more like "death by a 1000 cuts"...all these little things that build up, wearing us down bit by bit, until - as you said - we find one day we suddenly can't cope
