Is it good to want clarity on a mental illness even if you think it's nothing major?

What do you mean clarity? To understand it better or something else? Any mental illness has the potential to be major if not addressed.

@Sroonaka616 Absolutely, it's good to find out. That way it can be treated, or perhaps you find out it isn't a mental illness but you're just going through a difficult time. Sometimes just knowing is a relief because it's scary to think you might have any illness.
