Do you still have your appendix?

Both my parents had to have theirs removed so I grew up thinking it was going to happen to me at any moment..but I don't think I know anyone who's had theirs out.

Years ago they used to think that since it had no obvious purpose it would be sensible to take them out routinely as a preventive measure. Now they don't remove them unless absolutely necessary. Mine is still intact.

@Persephone both my parents had emergency surgery on theirs, I remember being scared every time I had a pain in my side lol
